Lovely Banks and GOODING and LYNCH families

United Methodist Free Chapel, Lovely BanksPosted by: Graham Chapman

I am curious about Lovely Banks as my Great GG Father James & Miriam Gooding and their family farmed there from the 1850s after arriving in Port Phillip in 1844.

I have read where his farm was on the route to the Goldfields and they sold produce to the gold miners. I wonder if this is how the daughter Elizabeth Ann Gooding met her James Knuckey from Clunes. Eventually most of the Goodings went to Gippsland. Daughter Sarah (1853-1937) stayed after marrying Daniel Lynch. (1834-1929). Sarah and Daniel are buried at Stieglitz. Two of James & Miriam children were buried at Eastern Cemetery as infants.

My query is whether much has been written about Lovely Banks from the 19th Century, and whether anyone has connections with the families.

I would be grateful for any information available that i could follow up on.
