Friend in Hand Hotel

Hi Everyone,

Over the years I’ve come across various stories of a ghost associated with  the Friend in Hand Hotel located on the Fyansford-Gheringhap Rd near Friend  in Hand Rd. I’m writing a blog post on the hotel and the “ghost” and would  love to know if anyone else has a version of the story.

I know who the”ghost”who was murdered in 1855 was and have found 3 versions of the story in addition to the fictional children’s novel by John Pescott called The Ghost at Friend in Hand.

Can anyone add more?

With thanks, Jo Mitchell

  1. The “ghost” appears in the Geelong Cemeteries Trust online search as being buried in an unknown location in Geelong Eastern Cemetery – I think this was probably added from information in the Addy as the burial registers were incomplete or missing for the very early years.
