Over the years I’ve come across various stories of a ghost associated with the Friend in Hand Hotel located on the Fyansford-Gheringhap Rd near Friend in Hand Rd. I’m writing a blog post on the hotel and the “ghost” and would love to know if anyone else has a version of the story.
I know who the”ghost”who was murdered in 1855 was and have found 3 versions of the story in addition to the fictional children’s novel by John Pescott called The Ghost at Friend in Hand.
Can anyone add more?
With thanks, Jo Mitchell
I think I’ve got most of what I need working – there’s only one way to find out! The beautiful image of the Barrabool Inn has little to do with this Mailing List except that:
- It’s in our region
- It’s a beautiful photo
- It’s a beautiful building
- I really dislike adding posts without an attractive image
- Just because I wanted to!
Please start following our Mailing List which incorporates the former RootsWeb Mailing Lists for Geelong and District, and for the Bellarine Peninsula.
I’ll probably add a post incorporating the information from the Welcome messages on the RootsWeb lists – things like the towns / region covered and other hopefully useful suggestions.
To be honest I’m not really sure. With the current technical issues with RootsWeb Mailing Lists, some of our subscribers are keen to ask questions and communicate so I’m looking at alternatives and this is one option.
And the reason for the image below? It came up by default and it looked pretty!
